These faces resemble me some kiwi from animated cartoons. And when one of them hugs another gently — that's really touching :).

Besides unforgettable face and rather noticeable size (12-22 мм), this species is easily distinguished by original form of wing covers, pointed and split, like tail coat.

Of course, every weevil seen in the garden makes the gardener think about possible threat for garden plants. Indeed, the larvae of the yellow weevil live inside stems of parsley family plants, incl. some cultural species — parsley, celery, carrots, caraway, etc. On the other hand, we do not need parsley, celery and carrots to form stems, as they are grown for leaves and roots. Besides, I never saw these weevils in big quantities. Thus, we can enjoy the pretty faces without thinking of their negative impacts.
