А кругом — бескрайняя, ровная, как гладь озера, переходная топь. Иногда и на этих островках стабильности видны признаки вымокания. Видимо, по мере нарастания толщи торфа общий уровень болота продолжает медленно подниматься, и тогда вода наступает на островок со всех сторон. </p><p>Болото продолжает жить, расти, меняться.</p><p>И мне вот очень интересно узнать: если за 10 000 лет болото поднялось на 8 м и из понижения рельефа превратилось в выпуклость, то что будет через… ещё 30 000 лет? 50 000 лет? 100 000 лет? Гора торфа высотой 80 м? Sometimes we saw signs of damping on such islands. AFAU, as the peat grows, the bog surface elevates higher and higher, and the water level elevates, too, and floods the island, though very, very slowly.</p><p>The bog is still living, growing, changing.</p><p>So, in 10 000 years the bog's surface went up by 8 meters instead of depression it became an elevation. And I'm very curious: what happens after 30 000 years? 50 000 years? 100 000 years? Will it become a 80 meter-high heap of peat?
