Apr 15, 2012: This time we stopped by Sestroretsky razliv lake to look at the gull nesting site near the beach. Most of the time the gulls were busy mating and preparing to lay eggs.

From time to time the whole gull society stopped doing what they were doing and went to the air to hunt away some crows approaching the island. As the enemy flew away, more and more gulls preferred to return to their peaceful activities… until there was only one gull tailing the enemy. Maybe this one likes chasing more than others.

May be that the photo with the brave thrush had similar story. May be :).bird-chase
