Oct 15, 2011: During recent week-ends we intentedly went out of the city and looked for nice views of golden autumn. First, we rode from Repino to Zelenogorsk and found that most trees we still green there. Then, we went to Pushkin, and everything was in appropriate yellow-orange-and-red colours, but the weather was cloudy and gloomy. Thus, this week-end we decided not to care about elusive beauties of the season and went right into the very heart of our stony city for a couple of pragmatical purposes. After that we just decided not to loose such a nice sunny day and went for a bike-walk through the stony corridors of St. Pete`s streets, just for sport. And suddenly: wow, what a view!

The Fairyland-looking gates lead to New Holland Island — a warehousing territory built in XVIII. What a building! The gate was constructed more than 300 years ago, but it`s still here, not ruined. As the gate was made from red bricks and granite without additional finishing (plaster, etc.), they look so romantically aged (unlike most old buildings which look just rugged and shabby).

We found out that now ordinary people are allowed to visit the New Holland Island in summer season. Well, when we read a list of conditions needed to get to the island, we didn`t even try to enter.
