Мы распростёрли глаза, уши, объективы и разумы и приготовились внимать тонны новых впечатлений. И вот…</p><p>Как только мы дотопали через лес до первой стоянки, мы обнаружили там тонну мошкары, официально именуемой в энтомологии мокрецами. Маленькие такие, грызучие. </p><p>Вообще-то даже сотрудники заповедника сказали, что нам сказочно свезло: <em>такую</em> концентрацию мелкого гнуса они тоже не видели. Это давало надежду. Мокрецы облепляли все открытые участки кожи, лезли в распростёртые глаза, уши, объективы и тарелки с едой. «<em>На кой мы пёрли тушёнку? Насекомые — богатая белками пища, китайцы и африканцы давно это знают</em>», размышляла я, жуя кашу с говядиной, мошкарятиной и комарятиной (<a target=_blank href=http://compulenta.computerra.ru/zemlya/ekologiya/10008142/>ООН рекомендует, между прочим</a>). Фотики мы почти не вынимали: руки постоянно были заняты борьбой с мошками, и ещё мошки залепляли объектив.</p><p><a class=outer target=_blank href=http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9C%D0%BE%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B5%D1%86%D1%8B><img class=inner src=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d6/BitingMidge.jpg/320px-BitingMidge.jpg alt=мокрец из рода Culicoides /><span class=inner>Фото: википедия</span>Примерно такие пестрокрылые твари, длиной 1-2&nbsp;мм — это они и есть. А нам было не до макросъёмок.</a></p><p>У Андрея на лице молча вырастали большие хмурые волдыри. Мне казалось, что они смотрят на меня с немым укором: идея путешествия — моя, а повышенная чувствительность к токсичной слюне этих тварей — у Андрея, такой пердимонокль! Я, конечно, не забыла взять целый тюбик антиаллергической мази, но, но… Андрей вообще немногословный и по выражению его лица иногда бывает сложно что-то понять… возможно, что в тот вечер это было к лучшему. </p><p>Что касается распростёртого разума, то лично мне мошки его слегка сломали. Я поняла, что комары — они забавные, прикольно с подвыванием зудят, когда их много вылетает перед дождём. А мокрецы — такие безмозглые сволочи, даже репеллент не понимают >:( !</p><p>Зато… самое страшное сразу осталось позади, дальше всегда было «не так много гнуса, как ТАМ» или «мошек-то нет, комары одни»  :). И можно было без эмоций вести беседы о том, как важны кровососы для верхового болота :).</p><p><span class=ubcl>сем. We widened our eyes, ears, lenses and minds to embrace tons of new impressions. And, here we are…</p><p>As soon as we passed the forest and reached the first camp site, we found a ton of biting midges.</p><p>What's interesting, the reserve's team members told that we were “lucky”: they've never seen <em>such</em> concentration of the midges though they worked here for years. That gave us some hope. Tiny tormentors attacked all open areas on the skin, as well as our eyes, ears, lenses and plates. “<em>Why did we bother to take canned meat? Insects are a rich source of proteins, some people in Chine and Africa know that very well</em>” — that's what I was thinking while eating my porridge with beef, mosquitoes' and midges' meat (<a target=_blank href=http://blogs.scientificamerican.com/anthropology-in-practice/2013/07/24/whats-stopping-us-from-eating-insects/>FDA recommends, by the way</a>). And we were not in a mood for macro photography.</a></p><p>Big sullen knobs appeared on Andrei's face one after another. It seemed to me that all these knobs are looking at me accusingly: it was my idea to go to this journey, and it's Andrey who is hypersensitive to the toxic saliva of these beasts, what a mishap! Of course, I was forward-looking and took enough antiallergic ointment, but, but… Well, Andrey is not talkative and sometimes it's hard to decipher his facial expression… maybe that evening all that was for the better.</p><p>As for the widened mind, the midges broke my mind a little. That evening I understood that mosquitoes are just small interesting insects, they make such a funny howling noise when their hordes come out before rain. While midges are such stupid rascals, they even don’t understand repellents >:( !</p><p>Ok, but after that… the most terrible thing was already over. After that it was always “not so many midges as THERE” or even “ah, no midges, just mosquitoes” :). Я, конечно, не забыла взять целый тюбик антиаллергической мази, но, но… Андрей вообще немногословный и по выражению его лица иногда бывает сложно что-то понять… возможно, что в тот вечер это было к лучшему.

Что касается распростёртого разума, то лично мне мошки его слегка сломали. Я поняла, что комары — они забавные, прикольно с подвыванием зудят, когда их много вылетает перед дождём. А мокрецы — такие безмозглые сволочи, даже репеллент не понимают >:( !
