<div class=ru><p>24.03.2012: За последнее время во френд-ленте сообщали о виденных под питерскими мостами <a target=_blank href=http://genina-jena.livejournal.com/164411.html>крохалях</a> и <a target=_blank href=http://ru-birds.livejournal.com/196907.html>шилохвостях</a>. 2 дня ездили по городу и заглядывали под разные мосты: а вдруг и нам какую-нибудь некрякву покажут? :) А вот нет. Нам показали только чайку с пегой физиономией под Сампсониевским мостом. Тоже вроде новость, но не того масштаба.</p><p>Зимой у этих чаек лицо белое, только одно чёрное пятно за ухом. К весне птицы частично линяют и приобретают брачный наряд — голова становится тёмной. Молодь после первой зимовки — буро-пегая (справа внизу). <a target=_blank href=http://water-birds.narod.ru/larus_ridibundus.htm>Есть предположение, что экземпляры в брачном наряде с белыми пестринками на голове — это двухлетки</a> (типа первый брачный наряд у них немножко комом?).</p><p>А вот интересно: на целую стаю чаек (~20) однолетка была всего одна. А остальные что ж, не дожили до тёплых дней или просто в других местах тусуются?</p><p><span class=ubcl>обыкновенная, или озёрная чайка Chroicocephalus ridibundus</span></p></div><div class=en><p>Mar 24, 2012: Recently in my friend-feed I saw mentions of mergansers and pintails found under St. Pete bridges. We carefully looked under all bridges we've met in these 2 days, hoping that we will see some unusual duck, too. :) But no, there were only mallards and one unusual black-and-white-headed gull. That's kind of something new for me, but not as new as I would prefer.</p><p>In winter these gulls have white heads with a small black spot behind the ears. By spring, adult birds get black faces. One-year-old birds are white and grayish brown (bottom right photo). It is mentioned that birds with black-and-white face are probably two-year-olds (not too successful with their first adult suit?).</p><p>There was a flock of about 20 birds under the bridge, but only one of them was one year old.
