<div class=ru><p>18.12.2011: Эти милые создания заставили нас хором задуматься: «Как ЭТО может жить?». Это ж не животные, а куски географической карты (особенно правая, она мне напоминает <a target=_blank href=http://maps.yandex.ru/-/CFrifLj1>дельту реки Лены</a>).</p><p>Оказывается, в природе _это_ ведёт малоподвижный образ жизни — большую часть времени торчит, закопавшись в земле и поджидая, пока какая-нибудь пища подползёт достаточно близко, чтобы её можно было сожрать. Жрёт оно всё, что сможет запихать в свою огромную пасть (за эту пасть по-английски оно даже называется «лягушка-пакман»). Пасть такая большая, что туда иногда удаётся запихать куски размером с самоё едока. Насекомые, грызуны, другие лягушки — всё давайте. Если вместо пищи к рогатке подползёт враг более крупных размеров — рогатка не убежит, а будет пыжиться и пугать врага, а может и <a target=_blank href=http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=8269211>очень неприятно цапнуть</a>. Ну, вот как-то так и живёт…</p><p>Из-за таких пристрастий в неволе рогатки склонны к ожирению (но, по информации всех жабоводских форумов, признаком ожирения у лягух являются больные глаза — <a target=_blank href=http://www.biopractice.ru/eyedisoders>в роговице откладывается холестерин</a>, так что эти пока, видимо, в норме). Думаю, что <a target=_blank href=http://www.google.ru/images?q=Ceratophrys+ornata&oi=image_result_group&sa=X>элегантные рогаточки в гуглопоиске</a>, с попками меньше головы — это просто молодь. Взрослые  рогатки живут 6-7 лет (в неволе — до 10) и достигают 15 см (в длину… Хотя я бы сказала «в диаметре»). Очевидно, этот рост происходит не за счёт головы. So, somehow, _this_ survives…</p><p>Due to such features, in captivity horned frogs can easily gain too much fat (but, according to all frog-breeding forums, too much fat would cause problems with eyes due to cholesterol deposits appearing in cornea, so it looks like these ones are quite normal). I can assume the  <a target=_blank href=http://www.google.ru/images?q=Ceratophrys+ornata>elegant small froggies in Google search</a>, with their bottoms less than their head, are very young ones. Adult pacman-frogs can live  6-7 years (in captivity up to 10 years) and get 15 cm large (15 cm long to be more exact… or maybe “15 cm diameter” will be even more exact?).
