Of course, when such a fluffy and useful animal gets into our home, we cannot let it go without feeding (start of May was chilly and scanty time for pollinators). After having enough jam the bumblebee did not immediately try to leave (I thought that would be natural for a social insect: eat and go, wouldn`t it?). Instead, he strolled through the insectary, found a comfortable depression in the groung and fell asleep. Only after having a rest for 2 hours, the bumblebee felt completely refreshed and at about 8 hours p.m. buzzed home.2011-05-bumblebee

genus Bumblebee Bombus

May 03, 2011: One chilly evening in May, I heard a very distressed “Ouch! o_O” from Mom`s room and rushed in to see how can I help. Mom was looking to the floor in astonishment.

It turned out that while Mom was changing her work-in-garden clothes to evening-rest ones, a bumbelbee fell out from something she had just taken off. As you may know, bumblebees are rather fragile and stingy animals. How could they both (bumblebee and Mom) avoid trampling and biting each other — that`s a riddle and thanks to the sky that everything ended so nicely.

After dropping on the floor and getting bored with my photoing rage, the bumblebee decided to fly (he started to tremble, as they usually do to “warm up” in cold weather). Thus I had to turn off the camera and catch the bumblebee before he starts to move in 3 dimensions.
